Play Therapy Basics & Beyond

Brief Description:

An intensive play therapy workshop covering basic components of play therapy as well as an in-depth look at history, theories and application of play therapy including modalities, techniques and experiential skill development. 

Learning Objectives:

By the completion of this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Compare essential theorists and organizations that helped to shape the field of play therapy
  • Differentiate between developmental stages of children and children’s play
  • Identify and differentiate the stages of play therapy process and apply this to work with individuals, groups and families through the lens of cultural diversity and ethical and professional practices
  • Demonstrate basic play therapy skill as demonstrated through role play and optional video assignment. 

Fee:  $400 for professionals;

         $300 for ORAPT members; 

         $200 for students

Scholarships available upon request. Please note that this is a fundraiser and 100% of the profits from this workshop will be donated to Juliette’s House Child Abuse Assessment Center.
