Play Therapy Basics and Beyond

A professional development and continuing education course with 28 CEUs. Learn about the essential elements and principles of play therapy, including history, theories and application, modalities, techniques, and experiential skill development. Applicability to a variety of ages and developmental stages will be included. Case studies will be viewed through the lens of several different play therapy theorists. Special attention will be given to the basic elements of play therapy, history of play, themes of play, play therapy toys and room set ups. Cultural and ethical considerations will be taken into account. The format of this workshop includes lecture, discussion and experiential hands-on learning. Completion of this course will result in 28 continuing education hours that may be applied towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
