What's Been Happening With ORAPT?

The Executive Council have been busy this past fiscal year. ORAPT achieved the following:

  • Conducted membership survey to gather feedback on what the members want
  • Held election and expanded the Council to 9 members to increase membership participation. Added two Members-At-Large Positions and one Student Member Position.
  • Donated $200 worth of items to create a gift basket used as a fundraiser for play therapy reseach at the Association for Play Therapy International Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • Participated in the Post NOW E-viral campaign as part of the National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day
  • Promoted play therapy at the Errata Gallery that helped raised money for the Clackamas County Children's Commission Head Start
  • Hosted two social networking opportunities for ORAPT members and local mental health professionals in Beaverton and Newberg
  • Sponsored 15.5 hours of Play Therapy workshops in October, February, and May. Generated $800 surplus after expenses.
  • Updated our website (www.orapt.org or www.orapt.squarespace.com). Members can now register for our workshops via Paypal and submit questions and comments to the Council.
  • Created a Facebook page (Search Oregon Association for Play Therapy) and Twitter Account (http://twitter.com/orapt)
